Because the difference in gpa is like .01-.05. That seems pretty negligible to me.

You either go to the Olympics or go home based on 0.001 of a second. I think it's fair to look at grade rank to see which houses are the best. This is confirmation that some of the houses that self rank themselves a lot as a top house are not really even in contention.

First of all, this isn't the same as qualifying for the olympics. Second, if the only thing that mattered was grades, sure you could say this. But when there is a barely a difference between GPAs among them, the other factors allows you to distinguish between them. These other factors are not as close cut as the difference in GPA which is why some houses who are .01 GPA below another house are considered much better than them.

If DG or Theta had decent grades they would be all over this board bragging about how great they are. Grades should be more important than anything. The girls that work that hard deserve to be recognized for their hard work. Congrats all of you who got above panhell average. They do have that for a reason now don't they?

If your house is below the panhellenic average, you're not a top house (cough cough Theta DG AXO APhi). You can say you are because you're so wonderful, but people work hard to get in to UIUC and it's not to hang out with people who decline to take advantage of what they're here for. Just know that while you're on greek rank puffing your house (puffery is a promotional statement or claim that expresses subjective rather than objective views), the rest of us were studying and hanging out with our sisters.

It is pretty sad that you are so desperate that you are trying to say that the op is wrong. Google Panhellenic Spring grades uiuc . It is all there for all to see. Read it and Weep my friend.

I don't think it's as important as the rank itself but more the change. For example, SDT was top in grades last semester, so much that some post statistically proved they were way above the mean, what happened? KD was somewhere in the middle but is clearly trying to better themselves.

Maybe there was a gap in their test bank. Certain frats and sorors have extensive files with old tests and class notes in them. Also some are more aggressive in challenging professors.

Consistency can be a factor. For example, AEPhi had top grades spring 15 and spring 16.
