Connections in Fraternity

How important is having connections with brothers before rush? Does not having many connections with a certain fraternity (or vis versa) put you at an advantage/disadvantage?

Very important bc the better frats already know who they want and without connections u may be chalked

yeah its way harder to get a bid at a place where you dont know anyone. not impossible but much easier if you have a connection
