Are “top tier frats” all about looks?
by: ?
I’m an athlete so I decided i want to try joining a top tier fraternity through fall recruitment in my sophomore year, but I’m kind of doubting it because I don’t look like most guys that are on their ig pages. Does that significantly impact my chances of getting in a top frat? I actually have never seen subpar dudes in top tier frats. I heard their freshman PC from last year had a lot of Prom Kings and I wasn’t like that in high school. Do they choose new members based on the appearance? I’m fit but I really don’t consider myself good-looking. Serious answers please.

I suppose the guys in top-tier frats are a bit better looking on average, but I feel like a lot of "top-tier" frats recruit and give more bids to guys they know beforehand. more about how social you are during the events and how well you get along with the brothers. limiting yourself to top tier frats may make you end up with no bids while passing on a house that may have been the perfect fit for you, so might as well check out as many houses you can and see who you vibe with best, cause having true friends you actually mess with matters way more than what others (you've probably never met) think of you. not worth it to be in a top-tier if you don't really like them or they don't really like you. as long as the brotherhood and fun events are there, then that's all that really matters at the end of the day.

I mean not directly, but a big part of getting bids to top fraternities is demonstrating that you can bring / get with hot sorority girls, and I guess being good looking goes hand in hand with that. It’s not like they’ll cut you just for being not good looking specifically
