Warning: These ranks should be taken loosely. There is no universal standard for how to rank these houses. Form your own opinions!
Don’t join suspended Chapters!! They cannot guarantee that they will return to campus how they used to be. In fact, some never come back at all. Sammy is a great example of a Top Tier house that was never allowed back by their nationals.

Top Tier: Most Social Houses
1. [Dchi], [Pike], Acacia, [BSB](Sig Chi would be in the first seed but they are still suspended).
2. [Sig Ep], ATO, DU, AEPi (DU and AEPi have more in common with TKE and Lambda than they do with the first five houses. For that reason these house are highly interchangeable depending on the recruits and the time of year)
3. TKE, Lambda, Phi Who, Phi Psi (Phi Who and Phi Psi are not really top tier. They are simply popular enough with people on campus to be considered at the border of Top Tier. AGR and TDX can potentially join this tier in the future)
Middle Tier: Socials are just as good as Top but the crowds are average
4. AGR, TDX, [Sig Pi], Fiji (Fiji is always limited by being on-campus but they are social enough to be this high up)
5. AKL, [Pikapp], [APD] (Chi Phi is on interim suspension. AKL, PiKapp, APD are always rebuilding their numbers. They are Dark Horses ready to grow into the 4th seed with better recruitment.)
Lower Tier: Inconsistent with Socials
6. TEP, [ZBT], Far Sig, Skulls (Good Houses that can’t seem to fill up their socials)
7. PKT, Alpha Sig, SAE, LambdaPi (these houses don’t social very well. However they have strong brotherhoods from what people say. If you’re introverted and laid back I would start with these houses. DKE is suspended)
8. Treehouse, AZ, DTS, Triangle, mudhouse (These houses also don’t social much. However, they are a great source of branching out and finding a niche to be a part of)
If you’re a recruit, branch out and form your own opinions. If you’re just looking to party, then these ranks are pretty accurate and yet they’ll be different by the end of October. That’s just how it is at Penn State.
