Rush Advice for Freshmen

Wanted to put a post up where freshmen can ask questions about fraternity rush, and people in houses can answer. Try to keep it civil, these freshmen could use our help

every house does basically the exact same thing tbh. just join where u like the guys best bc they’re gonna be your boys for the next 3 years.

What the hell do the rankings mean (I heard they don't matter)? What does it mean if a frat is rising/falling? How do you know where to rush just based on this type of stuff?

Rankings are based off who gets the hottest girls and has the best events, also kinda includes the quality of the guys in the houses

To build off of the other comment, they generally mean where the fraternity is at in relation to all of the others. The deciding factors are quality of parties, girls, and brothers. However it is all pretty much subjective, as there is always going to be arguments over specific houses. Sure, you won't see people saying DChi belongs in the 7th tier, but within tiers its all based on preference.

I would suggest ultimately picking a house based on how YOU feel about it, not what other people tell you to feel. Go with your gut and you'll have a fun 3 more years here. Being Greek is worth it
