Truth about Srats at PSU
by: bigsis
if you are a girl getting ready for recruitment please read this, I wish I knew:
The truth about being in a sorority at PSU and most likely any other school is that you have to decide before you accept your bid if you care more about the opinion of guys or actually being happy. this may not be true for everyone but it seems like most girls freshman year care a lot about which sororities are considered the “hottest” “best” whatever and if you are like that it’s okay and maybe you’ll stay that way but I also know that mindset fades fast once you are actually in a sorority and realize each and every single sorority has seriously beautiful cool girls and 99% of the way you perceive them now is just due to how they market themselves on social media and what guys have to say about them. Frat guys can be super cool and fun but they can also be the worst and you have to realize what is important to you before you make a decision that will change your college experience and beyond as far as what kind of people you really want to surround yourself with. Bottom line go in open minded and just vibe

This is truth 100%. Too many people think they have to be in the chapter that is "top" because of a desperation to be "cool". Be honest with yourselves. There were "super cool" cliques in HS and other groups that still had fun. If you were in and can't imagine living outside that inner circle of "cool kids" then live or die by the sword of status rankings. But if you had friends in the band, student government, sports beyond football, etc you know that you can be happy and make great friends without being in the "self appointed cool kids" ranks. Find you people and live you life!
