just had to get this out there (rant)

PSU Greeks have a lot of people criticize them for “caring so much about social status.” I can tell you I’m very sure that, while Greeks do come on here to rank or comment, they make up a HUNDREDTH of the thousands of kids who are involved and couldn’t care less (let’s say there’s about 50 posts, comments, views on here daily including geeds, that’s 1 percent out of the about 5000 Greeks. I’m ball parking here). My point is that like 99% of the Greeks at Penn State DON’T CARE ABOUT TIERS, so to the people not in Greek Life please don’t think that this is just some big popularity contest because the vast majority of people know it means nothing in real life. They went through rush and rightfully joined where they liked the members, not by “social status.” Penn State Greeks, frats especially, have been under constant criticism for disgusting things that, like the case of people who care about social status, were commited by a TINY FRACTION of bad apples. The handful of frat boys that killed a pledge or the ones that made that vile Facebook group (who end up getting all of the news coverage) are BARELY ANYTHING compared to the rest of the 99% of PSU Greek Life with good friendly members that just want to meet people and have an awesome time. For every one creepy frat boy there are a hundred other frat boys that do everything they can to make sure the people at their parties are in no danger and get home safely. I’ve had countless frat guys help me and my friends if we were ever needed it. They had no problem at all letting us sleep on their couches (lol) or pay for an Uber drive home to make sure we got back safely. And for every one sorority girl that acts mean or judgemental to you, there are a hundred others that will be nothing but kind and friendly to you. This is college, people just want to socialize and have a good time. And to that small handful of Greeks that do come on this site, grow up. It’s college. The other 99% of Greeks don’t care about “social status,” don’t you think there’s a reason? Peace ✌🏻
