my msg to all of greek life (my story)
by: OleHeadI am right now a Senior about to graduate. I rushed for the first time my first semester of my Junior year. I knew very little about Greek life Fresh and Soph year... I was very hesitant about rushing my first two years but got sick of being the geed that couldn’t be a part of something special like a fraternity has to offer. So I rushed. Had no clue what I was doing on zone days but still went to a lot of houses. No “top-tier” house was interested in inviting me back due to me being a Junior (they were straight up to me when I told them my year most the time n said they weren’t taking Juniors) which I find dumb cuz any person can bring a lot to a house if they’re not just looking to sit back and party the last two years away and do nothing, but that’s a diff story... So I was left with “middle” and “lower” tier houses.. I can honestly say that I liked two lower tier houses better than most middle ones I visited. Tiers aren’t a thing, there are girls both attractive and not that will social w your house regardless of tier you or they are in (also nother story). So I got offered 2 bids for “middle” houses and 2 for “lower”. I ended up accepting a “lower” tiered house and I couldn’t be any happier w my decision. The brotherhood is tight and I’ve made my best college memories thus far out of 3,5 years in the house ive only been in for 1 year as an initiated brother. My end message is tiers aren’t a thing, as the “Dear fratstar” post states, which every geed and non-geed should def find and read if you’re still visiting this shi tt y site. And my other msg is don’t be afraid to rush no matter what year you are, cuz no matter what “tier” you end up in, you’ll have an equally memorable experience in your life and EVERY house parties, (except triangle). Life’s short, live fast.
