drop and rush as a sophomore??

by: pnm

So I got dropped by my top sororities this round and the only decent one I have left is DG. Should I drop now and rush again as a sophomore or should I just get through this round and suicide with DG. I’m looking for opinions pls!!!

I would stick it out and hope that it works out with DG. They are a solid middle tier house and trending up. For most people who rush as sophomores, they end up with the same houses back. Unless you make some dramatic adjustment in your style, meet tons of members in other chapters, etc you won't see a difference next year and you will have missed out on a whole year of the Greek experience. If you have other options, I would continue with the process until the end and see how it works out. I know a lot of people who pledged chapters that weren't their top choice and after getting in and meeting their sisters are thrilled they didn't quit.

That last sentence was me as a freshman. I hated the sororitys I got back, but I stuck it out and now i LOVE my sorority and I have made the closest friends ever. DG is a great chapter with such a mix of girls that look like they could be in higher sororitys and some that look like they're where they belong but they are doing so much better than in the past and my friends that are in DG love it so much. I say stick it out and who knows, you can be the person that helps bring up their ranks. Would you rather be an average SOPHOMORE in a top tier MAYBE or the freshman that stands out in a middle rising?
