ifc disaffiliate
by: Michigan IFCMichigan IFC is disaffiliating from the school. If we don’t follow this model pioneered by CU Boulder we’re cooked.

People keep talking about this and I understand the appeal but there are a great number of problems with this, especially at a school like Penn State. If we lose homecoming and greek sing whatever. Not a big deal. But you also have to think what it will do to THON. More importantly, if you look into the greek systems that did this, many nationals immediately pulled charters of various organizations. We don't even have the backing of the borough to pull something like this off anyway. It would be the death of the greek community.

Exactly. Especially if Nationals do not agree with this whole disaffiliation BS. They (Nationals) do not want to deal with rogue chapters. They will not be able to control them and end up turning into just a party/drinking club which eventually get into serious trouble with the local police. Nationals will just rather pull the charters and be done with it to protect their brand. IFC really needs to re-think this again. What may work at one school, might not work at PSU.
