derby days sketchy

is it just me or are derby days just a way to capitalize on sororities being competitive w each other so that they do all the work of sig chis philanthropy for them.... like we all have our own philanthropies why do we have to do theirs for them too.

A lot of colleges have banned derby days for this very reason.

Why do we pay money to participate in these events to be humiliated? Why have we allowed ourselves to be objectified? Women’s fraternities were started as an empowerment movement — what happened?
