hidden girls

I’ve heard some nasty rumors about sororities that hide girls during rush, as in don’t let them talk to girls rushing because they’re not as pretty or something. Is this true? If so what sororities do this??? I’d really hate to join a sorority just to find out they treat sisters that way. Thanks!
