hidden girls
by: scaredI’ve heard some nasty rumors about sororities that hide girls during rush, as in don’t let them talk to girls rushing because they’re not as pretty or something. Is this true? If so what sororities do this??? I’d really hate to join a sorority just to find out they treat sisters that way. Thanks!

This is a terrible recruitment practice that I do not believe any of our chapters really participate in. Every chapter is proud of their members and wants to showcase them during recruitment! Do not let this deter you from liking a chapter.

I've heard rumors about that too. I asked a friend who is in a sorority that the rumors were about and she explained that the hotter girls definitely have more involvement in rush...aka they'll go on every round and pref more people but that doesn't mean the less hot girls aren't involved at all. I don't think any sorority actually hides girls from rush...that would suck lol

Not gonna lie, it happens. I haven’t experienced it, but I know friends it’s happened to. some sororities you wouldn’t think do it (rising bottom tier sororitys even). what I did when I heard these rumors when I was rushing, during prefs I started asking the girls about how close they are with their sisters, really pressing them to find things out and it definitely helped me figure out which ones do and don’t do it

This seems like a targeted attack on certain sororities. Sororities often rotate people in when the rounds change if they have more girls than they need... I really don’t think they “hide” specific people. I personally did not notice this during my rush experience. I just think someone is trying to make a certain few sorories look bad....

from personal experience I can tell you that what we’ee talking about isn’t just rotating some girls in and out for rounds. This is picking out girls and giving them tasks to do in rooms separate from all PNM’s

Some of its self selection, ie girls who are more awkward or just bad at rush choose to be on drinks committee or computer chairs, stuff like that. But some sororities literally do hide their members and essentially not let them participate. The only sorority I can confirm that does this is APhi but I doubt they are the only ones
