Honestly you guys have the weirdest greek atmosphere I've ever seen. Phi Mu is the only nationally semi relevant sorority here. UMBC needs to step up greek life.

Just because UMBC does not have HUGE national organizations does not mean anything. Each chapter is unique at each school and each chapter differs. Just because a chapter is big nationally does not mean anything..

UMBC, being founded in 1966, does not have the deep roots that many other universities have. For many years, it was a commuter school, and it's only in recent years that it has built up campus life. Greek life is still developing at this school.

Added to the above, I remember when there was just one NPC sorority, and now there are five. It's growing. But if you are looking for a "Big Greek" school, you will need to go elsewhere. Most people choose this school for the academics.
