Some advice for DB3
by: I know stuff
If there is a house or two that you are going to on Saturday that you KNOW you want for pref, then you need to tell them so.
The sororities have no way of knowing how you feel about them except for your in-person conversations. They don't ever see your ranks of the chapters so they aren't taking them into account when they are deciding their rankings of pnm's. They don't know how you think about them except what comes directly from you, so ranking them high is not enough.
Pref is their last chance to get their lists right because every pnm who is invited to pref will be on their bid list somewhere. They might like you fine but if they are still uncertain how you feel about them then you might not make it high enough in their rank to make it to their pref.
Conversely, ranking other chapters low or expressing your lukewarm feelings about them does NOTHING to get you ranked high enough to go back to the chapters you like.
Same goes at pref on Sunday, if you KNOW you want that bid you need to be clear with them.
Sorority members can't read your mind!

this may sound harsh but pnms need to get over the notion that they are too good for a house. the most popular girls from high school may end up in a mid or lower tier house. this will be very humbling, but that’s the way it is.
STICK WITH THE PROCESS. if you don’t stick with the process and you are sitting alone in your dorm on bid day, trust me, you will be sad!
