PNM advice from an alum
by: advice from an alumPlease do not stress yourselves out with the "rankings." my little sister is going through cu rush this year and told me everyone is talking about greekrank. Fwiw, I rushed at cu five years ago now and had kappa and alpha phi on pref night. I suicide rushed kappa because I just loved their physical house (I knew i wanted to live in sophomore year) and bonded a lot with the girls during rush, and didn't really fit in at a phi! nothing against a phi but it wasn't my vibe! Im not saying to suicide rush but I'm so happy that I went with the house where my HEART was instead of trying to choose whatever was considered the most "top" tier sorority. now as an alum i actually have lifelong friends. y'all got this!! <3

Suiciding is a risk. If you aren't high enough to make the cutoff with that one house before they match to quota then you aren't getting that bid, but it's legit if you absolutely would never ever ever accept a bid from your #2 house no matter what. Suiciding does not increase your chance of getting that house in any way.
#2by: Might well be true
There were indeed different rules 5+ years ago if OP was a Kappa legacy. At that time, a Kappa legacy at preference was supposed to be put on the first bid list. So I wouldn't even call it a "suicide" preference, because the KKG bid was effectively guaranteed.

single intention preference aka suiciding is a huge risk. If a house can take 175 girls total and you are 176 on their list you will may or may not bet a bid depending on how far down their bid list they go. If you have two houses for pref you are guranteed a bid from one of the two house.
