i can’t believe how deep first round cuts were. is this normal?

Yes this is normal. It is better to let pnm's know as soon as possible while they still have options than to string them along.

Panhellenic uses release figure methodology (RFM) in order to maximize pnm’s chances to get a bid at the end of the process. This means that the houses with the highest pnm return rates (i.e. houses ranked as a “1” by pnms) have to make deeper cuts each round than houses with lower pnm return rates. Stick with the process and you will find your home!

It's hard to trust the process when u don't get the houses u want and other pnm's are dropping out completely.

Just my opinion, but if PNMs are dropping after db1 and even db2 then I think they were rushing for the wrong reasons. I feel that if you choose to drop so early you were only rushing to be in a high status house and that’s not a good reason to join a sorority.
