Anyone else get bid promised and then dropped??

I’ve talked to multiple girls and they all got bid promised in one way or another on pref night by AXO and then dropped on bid day. Anyone else? Also isn’t that like totally against the rules.

you can email panhellenic about it. that's a big no no and chapters can get in a lot of trouble for it. they're not even allowed to say "see you tomorrow" when you're leaving a house so...

Can you all recall what they said that implied bid-promising?

ex. Saying “See you tomorrow” is not allowed and considered bid promising

ex. Saying “I hope I see you again!” IS allowed and is NOT bid promising

i heard this about a few other houses too. you should def report it to panhel so they can investigate further. sad to hear this as it appears that axo had a great rush this year.

sounds like an axo troll tactic since the pnm very specifically mentioned what house it was. If this did actually happen, then yes, it should be reported to panhel right away with all the specifics

we mocked with axo and they say “I hope to see you tomorrow” if you say “I” that’s not bid promising because it isn’t on behalf of the chapter it’s on behalf of an individual member

This is 100% true it’s a matter of “I hope” vs. “we hope”. Either way it’s confusing and hard for girls that really wanted certain houses.

Unfortunately saying “I” is not bid promising but saying “we” is. It means that the girl really did want to see you on bid day, but recruiters aren’t the ones making the final decision on who gets bids.

The only way that you can get dropped on Bid Day is if you suicided a house. I don’t know how many girls suicided AXO, but they absolutely should’ve gotten their second choice if they did not get a bid from AXO. If you pref 2 houses, you are guaranteed a bid. This girl absolutely should have received a bid from her #2 choice!

That was true in the past but not anymore…too many girls rushed and not enough bids were given out for everyone that prefed 2 houses

so girls went to two houses for pref and then didn’t get a bid from either???? that is so sad and messed up. panhel should increase quota and then make every house cob until each girl has a home

Rho Gam here. Everything stated above about bid promising is accurate. There were girls that only wanted axo and suicided axo, but if they did not get a bid from axo then they would have received a bid from their second choice house.
