frat rank here?

Since the formal rush for IFC starts tomorrow, I will tell you the complete truth without bias. Most people would advise you to trust your gut and the process, but most of the mid and top already have an idea of who they want, since they have made some of their favorites do informal rushes before the formal one to get an advantage. Some of them have spring rush, but it depends on who accepts their bids. Now that that's out of the way, I would rank them not based on my own bias, but on how they are viewed compared to their peers.

Sigma Nu and Lambda Chi Alpha are known as the top since one of their peers got shut down. FYI, some of them formed SAE, which starts this semester. Although SAE has a mixed reputation nationwide, they have tons of cool connections to make up for it.

Alpha Sigma Phi and Sigma Phi Epsilon are ranked next. Both of them have parties together, but the Alpha Sigma Phi house is farther away than any other house, yet it has tons of sorority members. Sigma Phi Epsilon may be in trouble this semester, so I'm unsure if they are still recruiting, as formal rush has not started yet.

Theta Chi and Pi Kappa Phi are the next tier. However, Pi Kappa Phi does have some of the best sorority relationships and parties. Pi Kappa Phi has several brothers who hold internships and have job outlooks similar to those of Alpha Sigma Phi. It should be noted that Sigma Pi, although not officially part of NCSU, still conducts rush, so that is something to consider if you are dissatisfied with school regulations. Additionally, Sigma Pi has a strong brotherhood and loyalty, if that is something that interests you.

Fiji is in its own ranking because it is below the other frats above, but it is higher than the frats below. The school loves this frat since, for the past couple of years, members of the IFC council have been composed of this frat. They are the nicest frat compared to everyone else.

The Kappa Alpha Order is its own ranking system because it is positioned above the other fraternities but below the fraternities that follow. They have a cool house, and the brothers care the most about sports. Although their pledge GPA was below 2.0 last semester, which was the lowest pledge GPA at NCSU, if a high GPA is vital to you, be cautious about joining this fraternity. They have an excellent sorority relationship, though.

Pi Kappa Alpha and Phi Kappa Tau are next, and they have tons of parties together. Compared to their peers, these fraternities have a diverse pool of members, if that is important to you. Both are known for their sorority rankings and have good job placement. Pi Kappa Alpha does not have a good reputation nationally with the whole Pike Spike thing, but if you can pass that reputation, you would be fine.

DKE and Sigma Chi also have a diverse group of bros, but do not party as much as the frats above. Kappa Sigma is forming a group composed of some of the former Delta Sigma Phi members who were shut down last year.

Beta Upsilion Chi is known as the Christian frat, so if religion interests you, that is something to look into.

The ATO, Chi Psi, TKE, Sammy, AEPi, Alpha Gamma Rho, and Farmhouse are the smaller fraternities, but they have a strong brotherhood. These frats are a good choice if you want a smaller frat experience with limited partying.

Overall, there is no good or bad fraternity at NCSU, and it depends on what you want to be part of and what you are looking for.
