Its a bit of a twisted tale and we unfortunately don't know all the deets. Short version: The person had a long history of posting on social media and does periodic youtube videos documenting her 'luxe' OTT life for her 14,000 followers. Her social media was sadly used by many houses to effectively 'blackball' her during recruitment. Many were surprised that she didn't take her social media private in advance of recruitment. I think many people thought the situation was sad because social media may/may not accurately portray what a person is like but it does tell a story. But houses use the social media of PNMs all the time to prescreen/judge etc. and so this youtube person was judged in advance and blackballed all without really having the opportunity to meet people in person during recruitment. There was a story that she she got and then declined a bid by the shady ladies at APhi but then somehow was given a snap bid by XO. Whole story is strange but I do think its sad if her social media persona made it virtually impossible for her to have a 'successful' recruitment experience.

But what about the issue with APhi? We know they bend the rules so were the rules bent in this situation? Why is APhi distancing themselves from this poor girl by saying they didn't give her a bid when we know that they did? Are they just upset that she took the snap from ChiO and think it makes them look bad?

the saddest part is that anyone thinks it’s possible to decline a bid and then accept one from another sorority. these are national Panhellenic regs and Miami can’t violate them, period.
From the MRABA:
Once I submit this agreement, I am bound by the National Panhellenic Conference Unanimous Agreements,
which state that if I receive an invitation to membership from a group that I have listed and then do not accept it, I am ineligible to be pledged until the beginning of the next primary membership recruitment period on the same campus.
