Yes the article was posted on here and on Reddit but now both are gone. Will check the wayback and see if I can find it. But multiple sources exist to confirm the budget to scrub this site and other sites. I don't think this practice is limited to APhi but APhi national takes it much more seriously than some of the other nationals and chapters get contacted if this site isn't kept scrubbed. But to have a group of people charged with keeping this site clean I think is a bit much. But I guess if all APhi has going for it is maintaining its image (no sisterhood, philo etc.) then it makes sense that their culture values the form of PR vs the substance of their organization. The Michigan article is still on Reddit even though many people have tried to take it down. Check out that article about recruitment to learn what APhi values as an organization. Sad commentary on priorities of a womens organization in 2019 and certainly sad compared to some other national panhel members.

Well said @smi! Agree that APhi is all about the surface and not about the substance!

This is about the recruitment tactics of APhi and many other houses. PNMs are told to 'trust the process' and that 'mutual selection works' ALL without understanding the process that is the machine of recruitment. Another post just got taken down here about common tactics used in recruitment and the use of A, B and C lists etc. I know in our house we just used A list again this year and it was so so hard as even friends of friends and legacy situation were tossed out the window to make way for the A list. I wish people understood the process better as it would make it less heartbreaking for many to deal with rejection. About the only truth is that nothing about this process is personal. The sad thing is that there are so many great candidates but so few truly open slots. If people recognized this then so many wouldn't drop out and we wouldn't focus so much time on the nonsense of tiers. We have so many great houses here yet every year people drop out because they didn't get the house they had their heart set on. The reality is that they just lost out on having a greek experience because a house they had no shot of ever getting dropped them. This is really sad and totally unnecessary as that same person could have had a fantastic experience at another house. Same thing happens every year. Sad IMO.
