It might not be how it 'works' but it did happen as an exception was made due to the awful circumstances. Rules are made to be broken people and god knows our sorry greek system is broken beyond repair.

This youtube person is actually a very impt and relevant story that sadly some people are missing. Here is a person that had many years of social media on multiple platforms remain up and active when she came to Miami. Unfortunately she didn't take the social media private in advance of recruitment so houses used the social media to effectively blackball her so she didn't have a chance in recruitment. The APhi part of the story is also relevant as its just another example of someone voting with their feet and choosing not to pledge a house that the steeped in recruitment controversy. This is a cautionary tale about social media cutting both ways. Don't get why most people don't take their SM accts private in anticipation of recruitment.

You do realize that half of these posts are obviously untrue bc no one CAN take a bid from one sorority and change her mind. Also the other half are made by the girl herself. Obviously she is always on social media. Also, if you look at her posts, she looks like she popped out of the 80s. There is not one top tier sorority that looks like that and yes, most sororities have a certain look. Her sister is a ChiO. She looks like a ChiO. I would guess, she is a ChiO.

In this case the rules were bent/broken a bit. Note though that the bid wasn't technically accepted and the person never formally pledged APhi. So, to the extent ChiO had capacity they were able to pick her up. There were so many computer glitches this recruitment that this situation isn't at all shocking.

This must be the girl bc she wants to make it look like she got a “better” bid then she did. Once she signed the MRBA she cannot accept a bid somewhere else And no. They didn’t bend the rules. What an idiot

This narrative is tired. Anyone that thinks this new member of ChiO is posting all of this crap about herself is delusional. Do you think anyone (even a Vlogger) wants to be a topic on GR...especially weeks into the new member period? Logic says that with a sister in a chapter on campus, odds were that she WANTED to join her sister in said chapter and knew what chapters might/might not be a good fit for her coming in. Speculating that she was dropped by all top tier and then somehow received an APhi bid, but then somehow ended up in another chapter is ridiculous. Anyone who knows how the process does/doesn’t work, knows it didn’t and couldn’t happen that way. There isn’t some behind the scenes cover up and manipulation, there’s just a woman who went through recruitment and joined ChiO through a mutual selection process. Period. In checking out her channel, I have to say that while her personal style might not be the fast fashion that every clone on campus wears, at least she’s true to her own style.

Funny thought that money didn't buy her the house of her dreams here at Miami! She wasn't able to 'buy' anything and was in fact blackballed by the top 2 tiers. Food for thought....
