dropped and confused

by: PNM

So I got dropped from APhi after philanthropy round and was absolutely devastated and super confused. I felt like I really connected with the girls and it's been the only chapter that felt like "home" for me. I am probably going to drop out of recruitment because that was the only sorority I could see myself in. So can anyone tell me about informal rush in the fall or anything similar? Some rumors have been going around the PNMs about something like that. Or will I just have to wait to rush them again next spring?

Honestly keep an open mind about the chapters you have left. Some girls get so caught up in the looks that they dont think about the conversations. Typically, you were dropped for a reason so your odds aren't higher by rushing again later. Go into the houses you have left with a fresh outlook and find your people. Most girls would fit in with more than 1 house so I have faith that you'll find a home if you give them a chance.

A lot of great houses do informal but there’s only a handful of bids they can give out bc of members that transfer or drop. Wait till bid day and see where your friends go and see if they can give you an in. Good luck.

Another thing... once you see the pledge classes you’ll actually confirm that you wanted a certain house or not. Some PCs will make you realize it was a blessing in disguise lolololol

So glad you dodged a bullet and didn't get APhi. Seriously look at your other options. There is no ONE house for anyone. We are so lucky to have so many solid places to land. Your options will be FEWER next year so please keep that in mind. Stick with the process please.
