rush process
by: ?Everyone says trust the process but i feel like ive met so many girls that have said the process doesn’t always work and that makes me nervous which is most realistic

yeah, it doesn't always work, but most of the time it does. sororities are going to recruit girls they think will fit in with them, and most of the time it works out but because they don't have a ton of time to get to know everybody well, sometimes it doesn't.
it's really the chapters that have the power. yes you're going to rank chapters you want to drop but you may only get invited back to those chapters and there isn't anything you can do about it. Go all the way through pref, even if you don't think you'll fit in because it doesn't hurt you to get to know them a little better before deciding you don't fit there. I ended up in one of my original middle choices, and it wasn't until pref that I felt good about taking a bid if I got one there. overall I'm glad I kept going and glad I took a bid. yeah I don't love every sister or everything we do, but I wouldn't like not being in a sorority more.

In general the process does work for most people. We are lucky that we have so many solid houses so most people are able to fit in and find a friend group no matter where they end up. Remember you don't have to love everybody in the house but look for a general vibe where you feel comfortable and meet people that you have something in common with and you enjoy spending time. If you don't feel comfortable during recruitment its doubtful that things will change much over time if there is no common ground of interests etc. Keep an open mind and try to talk with as many people as you can and please don't get fixated on so called rankings. The fastest way to an unhappy experience over a long period of time is to focus only on rankings.
