Sorority Rec Letters?

I just enrolled for fall 2026. My mom’s friends have offered to write letters of recommendation for their sororities. Does this matter? Should I have them do this or are they just remembering how things were in the ‘90’s?

Rec letters aren't necessary anymore! They really don't make a difference.
