Dropped by top incl legacy. Do I continue?

by: Leg

Confidence has been crushed after being dropped by legacy and another top choice where multiple family members are active/alumni and have recommendations. I have the grades, resume and fit the bill and there is no way I’ve done ill will to anyone, ever! Maybe the video was an issue? I don’t feel good about choices going into pref. Do I drop and consider cob or sophomore rush? Will this hurt my chances more in the end? I’m trying to be open minded but feeling discouraged.

Don’t be discouraged. It’s really a just a numbers game in the end. Every house can’t take everybody. It’s most likely nothing personal. I say go to pref and see. What is it going to cost you?

many chapters here at clemson don't necessarily focus on legacy anymore, except for maybe the first round. I wouldn't take it too personally, some girls might have just had better conversations with other girls that were less interview-like. Also, the video round is a big factor as nobody can really tell who you are based on a 1 minute video, and it can be unfair to everyone sometimes. But all chapters here are very similar and all have amazing groups of girls who supported not just there own but all other philanthropies. And just because u got dropped doesnt mean you cant make friends with girls in that sorority. Dont think about it too deep, u will be happy wherever u end up:)

I was dropped along the way be everyone I was interested in and really didn't like my final two choices. The whole process sucks. I went forward with bid day. I just never really clicked with the other girls and found everything super annoying. I ended up dropping out.

Same exact thing happened to me but I gave it a shot and ended up on my chapters exec and recruitment team. You never know how it’s gonna turn out unless you try

This same thing happened to me freshman year and then I dropped after pref and rushed again as a sophomore and ended up making some of my best friends in the sorority I ended up in. I also know a lot of girls who dropped and planned on rushing again but didn’t because they made so many friends freshman year they didn’t feel like they needed/wanted to rush again. It seems like the end of the world in the moment but I promise it gets better and some of my best friends are other girls who I met freshman year because none of us were in sororities and now I have them AND my friends in the sorority and it worked out better than I could have planned
