Why are fraternities so selective?

I rushed three separate times and never got a bid. Every chapter I been to rejected me. It's so frustrating to not know why no one accepts me. I missed out on so many parties, football tailgates, and adventures. I graduated last year, and I still can't understand why it is so hard to join.

It's amazing that Georgia Tech is a very academically oriented school, yet people in greek life here are just as arrogant and selfish as people in greek life anywhere

Maybe some self-reflection is in order. You have to have something to offer any group you want to join, you aren't owed membership just because you want it. Saying rude things about 25% of the undergrad population, which is several thousand of your peers that you were in classes and everywhere else with, should be your clue. A chip on your shoulder will get you rejected from all kinds of opportunities throughout your entire life.

Dude you don't need to be greek to have parties, football tailgates, and adventures, any group can have those.
