is it hard to get bid

I’m an incoming freshman and I was wondering if it’s hard to get a bid from pike?

Here’s what you need to know. Pike is not the only good fraternity. When you go through rush you may find several fraternities where you feel comfortable. Don’t be afraid to ask what they’re looking for in a new pledge, and do be prepared to tell them what you can bring to the table. It’s not true that you have to be a legacy or a varsity athlete to join Pike. Also not true that different fraternities only take guys from certain cities or high schools. Fraternities are looking for new members who are LIKE THEM, or are willing to become like them.

Bids are not allowed to be given out before rush begins. Pike still does it, but secretly. By “under the table” I mean they give out the bids early regardless of the rules

You’re allowed to give bids whenever you want but the formal “pledging” process has to be over by the ifc mandated 6 weeks after rush

Only sororities are not allowed to give bids except during rush. Fraternities can give bids anytime but your pledging starts all together as one class.
