Beta's back on campus after being pulled by their national organization a few years ago. There are definitely some guys in Beta who I wouldn't consider the "fraternity type," but that's to be expected with something new. Guys in Beta are generally respectable though. Beta started off with a decently favorable reputation - lots of their guys are involved in other things around campus, and they do well academically. Their brotherhood seems stronger than I'd expect it to be, but they still have to prove themselves to the wider Greek community by being more social. The jury's still out on Beta, but no one denies that there's potential.

Kappa Sig is a solid fraternity with strong brotherhood, despite some recent setbacks. The general reputation is that Kappa Sigs are "meatheads and tools," but that's not entirely true. Kappa Sigs drink a lot, and they're generally respected by most of campus. They don't really push the Greek life envelope in any way, but that works for them. The choice to be a Kappa Sig is a relatively safe one - it's not difficult to get a bid - but it's not a negative one by any means.
