Sororities with bad reps
by: Curious PNMI’m going to be rushing in the fall and I’m curious which sororities have actual genuine nice girls and which have some meaner girls or are known for having a bad reputation. A lot of older girls are telling me I should go into rush blind but I would like some background knowledge of what kind of girls are in the sorority

DEFINITELY STAY AWAY FROM RANKS AND GOSSIP. Not everything you read on here is true and most of the time mean posts are targeted by other sororities who are jealous or falling in ranks. IMO there are no bad reputations at Arkansas, your preference is mostly based on who you are friends with or know

You’ll find snobby or rude girls in every house! I’ve seen the most in Chi O personally. And there are def some in Pi Phi and Zeta. Not sure why the above post says that kappas come off that way, bc I’ve never experienced that but you’ll find it everywhere. I would agree that ADPi is definitely full of sweet girls. Same with DG. Also keep in mind that during rush, just like PNMs, active members are doing their best to be energetic and fun, which can come off fake anywhere!

If you can read people relatively well, you'll be able to pick up after a few conversations at different houses on who's fake and who's not and different things like that. You'll find your people in whatever house you choose regardless and if not for some reason, I have a TON of friends in my own sorority as well as pretty much every sorority at Arkansas. Greek Life at Arkansas for the most part, everyone is pretty welcoming and friendly with some exceptions.

I was told before recruitment do not pledge “X” sorority. They are full of mean B——. I LOVED them during recruitment! They were not ranked that high, had a bad rep ect.... but I liked them way better than higher ranked sororities. I did not pledge them because I liked one sorority more but I would have found my people and been happy if I did. Still love some of the girls I met at that house during recruitment:)

I would not merely go off of rankings on this site, but I also know that most PNMs will be looking at allll the rankings and will be filled in on alll the gossip. Yes, you will soon realize that certain sororities have very bad reputations and for that reason are “dropping”.

Not to be a broken record but all the sororities have a combination of sweet, fun and genuine girls.
Remember that it's all subjective. If someone doesn't know any XYZ sorority girls and their friend had one bad experience with one girl from that chapter, they're probably going to think badly of them too.
And if that friend then posts shade on GR about them, it's not exactly going to paint a pretty picture for everyone else. Especially if other anons with axes to grind with XYZ chapter jump in adding fuel to the fire.
Whilst there are certain reps, take everything with a pinch of salt. Drama speaks louder only because the classy girls in the chapters don't waste their time and energy on it.
If you're absolutely living for a genuine sisterhood, then wait and see how you feel when you rush. You might form connections at houses you didn't even anticipate.
But that said, houses normally with the sweetest girls rep tend to be:AXO, ADII, AOII and DG. Some people also say that everyone has a friend in ZTA too.

There are reputations here sadly. But do not base your recruitment off of it or else you will be disappointed or confused. Try your best to find the most genuine people when you are talking to them (it is pretty easy to tell who is fake and who is not once rounds start getting longer).
Nice Sororities:
AXO!!! I’ve only met nice girls here, super kind hearted and not “sorority girl fake”
Pi Phi’s are generally nicer than most and are a bit quirky and book smart
Adpi’s are outgoing and nice, lots of pretty but genuine girls
Zeta’s are a mix, everyone has their own preference, I think a lot of Zetas are nice but they can have a reputation for being rude or partiers.
Kappa Delta’s are nice for the most part! Down to earth for sure.
Phi Mu’s don’t have the best reputation but I love my Phi Mu friends and think they deserve less back lash.
Kappa and Chi O: kappa is way nicer than Chi O, but both can come off as snobby or rude
Tri Delts seem sweet, haven’t heard anything bad about them, quieter girls
DG has very nice girls who like to be involved
