Serious srat question
by: TessaSeriously, me and my friends have been wondering about this, why are there so many off-brand srats at JMU? ASA, AST, Phi Sig are all like the aldi equivalent of Kroger. Like my friends at sec schools have never heard of these so why does JMU have so many srats that aren’t big nationally instead of srats like kappa, chi o or KD? Me and my friends want to be in srats with a good national reputation and alum network and not something nobody has heard of

to be honest, all the sororities lose some of their favorites to other sororities year after year. asa does sometimes lose due to not having the national recognition that others have, but at JMU they are a great organization. zeta, aphi, ddd are all more well known outside of jmu so sometimes they get girls just based on that, but they aren't like the big sec sororities and sometimes girls are disappointed after they get in bcuz they had higher expectations of these srats.

Honestly JMU sororities overstate their importance. Even compared to the ACC JMU is small time and our sorority housing looks like low income apartments

I’m confused why JMU would have so many sororities that are on a smaller scale nationally instead of something like xo which is the largest. It just seems weird
