Nobody hands you a rulebook at bid day. You get a bid card, maybe a t-shirt, and a handshake from guys who are now somehow your brothers. What you don't get is any kind of honest breakdown of how things actually work - the unwritten stuff that takes most freshmen a full semester to figure out, usually by messing it up first.
