Comment:  It’s been a few years, but when I was in the sorority there were SO many weird girls who just didn’t fit the “sorority” mold. Honestly, those girls were the ones who put us on a lower tier. It’s unfortunate because it sounds like things haven’t changed. Once in the sorority, you could feel the lack of enthusiasm and friendliness from eboard as well as the other girls. Ultimately, the whole “sisterhood” thing is a facade. They literally just want your money and for you to rigidly follow their rules (who are they to tell me how to dress or behave anyway?). Barely any mixers with frats during my time there. Lots of unnecessary drama in terms of paying dues or (for new members) keeping up with the online educational component where we were expected to do assignments and were quizzed on the history of the sorority. It’s not at all what it’s made out to be. Gamma Phi Beta was not my first choice. It wasn’t my second or third choice either. If I wanted to be a part of Greek life (which i did at the time), it was truly my only option. I never felt “at home”. I never felt like I truly belonged there.
