Comment: I lived on greek rank for a year prior to recruitment and did all the things right. Snaked my way into some pre-parties with top houses to get to know girls, made connections, got letters, bought perfect fits for parties, was armed and ready. Recruitment was weird. Left top houses feeling like I just navigated a middle school lunch room, left pi phi feeling seen and cherished, it was clear that the sisters liked each other but I had other goals. By recruitment standards I did well, got “top” houses back, it was what I wanted, at least I thought. Dropped my top house 2 weeks later - who wants four years of middle school lunch room? Two cute girls in my hall went pi phi and had the best year. Pretty and smart and fun and they actually like each other. Don’t listen to the nonsense, college is a chance to start fresh, choose the people that you actually like, not the letters. Trying Greek-free life this fall but will cob this spring if I can’t find my place.
