I think the argument is that GPhi is more desirable in other areas that make up for grades. I mean, if we were judging tiers JUST on grades then we'd have a very different looking tier system than we do. Grades factor into it but GPhi has never been a "smart girl" house, so their grades falling isn't really a surprise if that makes sense? Whereas Theta advertises themselves as an academic house, so if their grades were to fall it would be cause for alarm.
