The most important thing is like you love the women you pledge with. When you accept your letters, you're accepting everything your house stands for. If grades are important to you, then seek that out. Looks? Go for it. But don't lie to yourself and try and pledge a house because you think it'll make you cool, or because your mother was a legacy, or whatever. My mom was a top tier legacy and I felt like I didn't fit in there. I liked another house better because they were relaxed, less intimidating, and the girls I talked with clicked with me. And I felt pressured not to pledge this house the entire week and ended up dropping recruitment because I felt swayed and lost. I ended up pledging a different house than both my legacy house and my favorite house when I rushed as a sophomore and I love my sisters, but I always wondered what might've been if I hadn't let others tell me how to feel. If I hadn't let people make me think my favorite house was for losers only. Don't make the same mistake so many other girls have. Your friends might think Alpha Alpha Alpha is only for losers but in the end, they don't have to go to chapters meetings and sisterhood retreats and formals with your sisters, YOU DO. So pledge the house you like.
