They can take friends of friends and continue to be content with mediocrity, or you can do the right thing: answer the emails, find out more about everyone who is interested in your house, do some pre-selecting according to whether they meet your qualifications and then invite them to your house so you can meet them. When houses that COB say they only want to fill their spots efficiently, it becomes glaringly apparent exactly why they have to COB: they don't have what it takes to improve.
