bid matching

Poster Message:
get a bit from them, so long as they have not matched 100 women yet. If you don't get a bid from ABC, then you move on to DEF. If DEF matches 100 women before they get to you on their list, then you will move on to GHI. If you are one of the first 100 women to match to DEF, based on where you are in their list, you will get a bid from them. If you don't get a bid from DEF and move on to GHI, then again, you will get a bid from them if you are one of the first 100 women to match to them. IF AND ONLY IF you maximize your options (aka - rank every house you attended preference) you could become a quota addition. Let's say that ABC, DEF, and GHI all match 100 women before they get to you on any of their lists. Theoretically you would not get a bid at all. BUT, if you maximize your options, you'll be placed as a quota addition. You'll never know you were a quota addition, and your house will never know. There is no set rule as to which house you will be placed to. Usually you'd get your #1 choice, but sometimes if your 2nd or even 3rd choice is smaller or doesn't have as many quota additions, you might get placed there to even things out. Bottom line, you will get a bid somewhere, even if you don't match. That's confusing, so feel free to ask questions if you want anything clarified!!
