Regardless of whether someone receives a bid or not, the entire sorority rush process is just horrible. Let’s take a bunch of 18 year old girls, majority that have never been away from home, and charge them $$ to come to school a week early (and many days before rest of student body) so they can be judged by those who don’t know them. Then day one some are told that houses don’t even want to talk to them…..AND NOT EVEN BE TOLD WHY. Grades? Maybe. We hated your 1 minute video? Possibly. But we don't have the courtesy of even telling you. Good luck the rest of the week! Then as the days go by more cuts may happen. Again, no house even has the courtesy of telling a girl who’s been cut what the reason is. You have brown hair and we want more blondes? We didn’t like the way your outfit looked? Fine. At least those are reasons. These girls receive nothing. Such a shame that every girl going through rush has to subject themselves to such an undignified process….knowing that many cool girls will receive nothing after going through it without being given any reason. Before first day of college starts many girls wi be told “you’re not good enough” after reading nothing else but how much fun they will have being greek via the PHA site. Does the site say anything about those who don’t get picked? Nope. Who cares? You’re not one of us. Just terrible. For those who don’t receive a bid this weekend, you have nothing to be ashamed about. You did your best and even though sororities don’t have the courtesy of giving you a reason why you weren’t asked back you are worthy of dignity and respect!
