I find that hard to believe. PiPhi has loads of girls from out of state, none of whom know anyone when they went through rush. My roommate was one of them. Not only have they been extremely welcoming to her (and all of those other out of state girls she pledged with), but they have been wonderful to me and we hung out there a lot. I hadn't considered joining a sorority, but that positive experience led me to pledge during informal. Not a PiPhi, but I saw no signs of cattiness in that house.
