I realize that it's easy to look up legacies to see if someone was a member of a sorority but do the chapters actually contact every single legacy member to verify the relationship? Like for example if I knew 'Jane Doe' from my hometown was a member of 'Alpha Beta' sorority, could I get away with saying I'm an Alpha Beta legacy and Jane Doe is my stepmom (which explains the different last name)? Just wondering.
