I'm an OOS girl from the South, both my parents went to Bama (Roll Tide) but settled in another state and I don't know many people who go there. I'm hoping to be a 20 year old freshman in the fall. My senior year of high school I was diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of cancer. After a long battle I'm in full remission and am so grateful to God to be able to go to college and restart my life. I can imagine that being a 20 year old freshman would make getting a bid much more difficult, but I've always wanted to have the sorority experience. I like to think I would have gotten a bid somewhere if I'd been able to rush 2 years ago. I graduated high school with a strong GPA, was super involved (cheerleader and SGA Vice President before I got sick, plus youth leader at church) and am very social. I'd really appreciate an honest response as to my chances as a 20 yo freshman, because if I have no shot I'm not sure I want to rush and end up without a bid. I'm not sure I want to deal with that rejection at this point in my life (silly as it sounds). I figured I might get a brutally honest answer on here. Thanks for your feedback!
