I think you have a chance with the nice sorority friends you have made. Do they know you are interested? When you talk about it with them gauge their level of excitement and body language. If it's not high...well you have a problem. Are you super polished, high energy? In any other student orgs? You may get a spot in the extra sophomore spaces in the fall. It's worth trying. If a chapter you know has an opening in the spring give it a go.
