If you're from really far away, it would only help you more. I say that you definitely need to make it if you can, but don't stress about it if you can't! They are a really great way to meet girls in the house and get a feel of each house before rush, but they aren't necessary. If you can go, definitely go. If you can't, it's okay! Not everyone can go, and the sororities totally understand that! It won't hurt you, it just won't help you.
