I would say for the most part, untrue that we think southern "city" girls aren't "southern enough" or don't "have the same values" . If you are from the Dallas or Atlanta area (for example), and your parents are wealthy professionals, it's probable that you actually live in a nice suburb of Dallas or Atlanta, not the cities themselves. Therefore, you were likely raised relatively similarly to the girls from the nice suburbs of Birmingham (like Mountain Brook and Vestavia). Plus, there are more OOS than in state PNMs at Bama now, so really, the only-but important- "leg up" the in state PNMS have over OOS PNMS actually IS close connections to actives already in sororities and close connections to Bama alumnae who can write them stellar recs tailored specifically for their actual chapter.
