So I've been hearing a lot about "connections" and how important being wealthy is to getting into Old Row and how it help being from the South. I'm from the South but from a large metropolitan city (metro population over 1 million), so I'm a deal more liberal and cosmopolitan than maybe the average Southerner. Will that be a problem in traditionally Southern sororities? Also, my parents are both professionals and we have our own small business that makes a decent amount of money, but we've never acted "rich" because there are legitimate billionaires and people with tens of millions of dollars in my hometown. Also because there are so many people in my hometown, it's impossible for people of the same "social class" to know everybody else in the same city. I only have 2-3 personal connections in Alabama sororities (total) but wealth-wise I think I'm on par with girls from Vestavia/Mountain Brook/Mobile, etc. Would I still have a chance at all houses or am I immediately excluded from Old Row simply because of connections?
