A 2.6 is not a "slight exception." They might for a gorgeous legacy with big volunteer work or accomplishments outside school if you had a 2.8, but a 2.6? You're screwed. I don't even know how you got into school. Maybe through a special program. Honestly, you need to pledge the library and bring up your grades. College is WAY different from high school. I know a lot of kids who hardly ever studied in HS and then didn't even know how to study when they got to college, with all its distractions. Improve your GPA and then we can talk.
