I know it's heart breaking to be cut by your favorite houses, and I know it's disappointing to get a bid to a house you weren't thrilled about all week. That said, EVERY group made quota plus, and EVERY group had a wonderful recruitment. EVERY group is outstanding and full of beautiful, smart, fun, funny, genuine, involved girls. You honestly can't go wrong at UA-and the "tiers" don't really matter that much after everything settles down and classes start. You can have an amazing experience in every group. Your group obviously adores you and wants you to be their sister or they wouldn't have given you a bid; just think about all of the girls who were released completely. I think you should ask yourself: if you took the letters off of the house (although I'm sure these very letters will have a special meaning to you soon :) ) and forgot about all of the tent talk, could you see these girls as your sisters? It will take effort and commitment to feel like you fit in, like all friendships do, but if you're willing to put just a little bit in I promise you'll get so much more back in return. This is probably your ONLY chance to be Greek at UA (don't count on COB and it's much, much harder to get a bid as a re-rushing sophomore). Yes, you will probably still have a good college experience as an independent, but right now you have sisters who adore you, a chance to be part of something much bigger than yourself, and an opportunity to grow as a person. What will you do with it?
