Yes, Rho Gams and panhellenic know the pnm's who have been released and can see all the schedules immediately after the algorithm generates them, regardless of when those schedules are released to pnm's. And the usual procedure is to let pnm's know as soon as possible when they have been released and through personal contact from their Rho Gam. Chapters have a deadline to submit their lists to panhellenic for the next round's matching. For later rounds they can be pushing that deadline into the night if their membership selection is taking a while, but for the first round the chapters have pretty much already had their lists almost finalized over the summer before recruitment starts, so they are already prepared to submit them right away and the algorithm runs and then the results are available earlier than in subsequent rounds. It is unusual for a pnm to find out she has been released without her Rho Gam reaching out personally ahead of when everyone else finds out unless panhellenic really is pushing on their own 8 AM deadline. I am so very sorry, I know this is hard and a bad way to start off the school year. Please understand that everything is a numbers game in recruitment, and your being released doesn't mean sorority members found you unworthy or judged you poorly or that you did anything wrong or that they wouldn't want to be friends with you. And rushing as a non-freshman is often more difficult at some schools. Keep your head up, it really is not the end of the world, though it stings bad right now.
