for years they were the bottom house here with theta but like over the past 5 years they’ve risen up to lower mid/mid tier. as bama gets more OOR students, gphi gets a little more popular!! i personally preffed them and a “better ranked” house and it was a really hard decision for me!!! and some ppl don’t like them for 2 reasons: 1) i think older alum from more southern OR and NR houses (like Aopi which used to be much higher ranked a decade ago) really don’t like that gphi has gone up in rank. 2) gphi is kinda only getting more popular because they are trying to get more aphi type girls. aphi is trying to clean up their image a little, so gphi is taking a lot of those girls. in return, gphi gets hotter girls at the expense of their grades/rep gphi has a lot of really laidback, chill girls but i definitely feel there is a divide between the girls who think they could have gone aphi or ZTA vs the really chill girls who dgaf. no chapter is perfect tho and a lot of them are divided like that depending on the member class. i personally really get along with gphi’s and i think they’re a fun house.
